Description
Heat-retaining electric radiator · anthracite · 1 kW
Fast controlled room heat with a fireclay core
TECHNOTHERM TT-KS Flat 1000 S DSM Z is a slim 1.0 kW electric radiator for wall mounting. Its 70 mm-deep anthracite cabinet contains a fireclay core that absorbs part of the heat during operation and continues releasing it after the heating element switches off. The integrated DSM 2.0 thermostat controls the room temperature and supports a weekly operating schedule.
This is a heat-retaining radiator, not a large night-storage heater. It reacts faster than a full storage appliance and combines direct room heat with a smaller amount of thermal storage. That distinction matters when selecting the product: it is designed to maintain comfort in a regularly used room, not to accept an all-night charge for release throughout the following day.
Heating principle
Direct heat and retained heat in one wall-mounted appliance
The electrical element converts electricity into heat. Part of that heat reaches the room promptly through the cabinet, radiant output and natural convection; part warms the dense fireclay core. When the thermostat reduces or stops the electrical input, the warm core continues transferring stored heat to the room. The result is a smoother release profile than a very lightweight direct heater.
The core does not create additional energy and the appliance is not a heat pump. One kilowatt-hour of electricity remains approximately one kilowatt-hour of room heat. Its practical value is the controlled timing and character of that heat: steady temperature control, a useful residual effect and the option to coordinate flexible heating periods with the building’s energy strategy.
Only 70 mm deep
The flat cabinet fits wall positions where a deeper storage heater would take too much room.
Fireclay heat retention
The mineral core continues giving off heat after active electrical heating stops.
Radiation and convection
The appliance combines radiant warmth from its surfaces with natural air circulation and requires no continuously running fan.
Weekly room control
The DSM 2.0 thermostat supports scheduled comfort and setback periods for regularly used rooms.
Optional remote access
App and internet functions require the separately specified TECHNOTHERM SmartBox; they are not implied by the radiator alone.
PV-aware planning
Where the approved controls and actual heat demand permit it, selected operation can be coordinated with genuine photovoltaic surplus.
Control and energy management
Room comfort remains the first control condition
The DSM 2.0 thermostat regulates the target room temperature and provides time-based operation. The current installation manual requires open-window detection to remain enabled during commissioning and describes adaptive start and weekly control functions in the DSM thermostat documentation. Correct programming avoids heating an empty room unnecessarily and allows the radiator to recover the required comfort temperature before the occupied period.
Remote access for the DSM 2.0 version requires a separate SmartBox. The radiator must not be presented as connecting directly to the router in the same way as the different DSD version. Any photovoltaic, dynamic-price or building-management strategy must therefore include the correct interface, reliable communication and an agreed fallback when an internet or energy signal is unavailable.
Photovoltaic surplus can be useful only when the room has a real present or future heat requirement. Heating an already warm room merely to consume surplus is not a saving. WodaTherm™ coordinates the room schedule, temperature limits and available energy signal so that comfort and energy use support one another.

Sizing
Select 1 kW from heat loss, not floor area alone
Room size is only an orientation. Insulation, glazing, outside walls, ventilation, ceiling height, desired temperature and local design weather determine the actual heating demand. WodaTherm™ checks the heat-loss basis and electrical capacity before confirming that the 1 kW model is appropriate.
The radiator is suited to a regularly used dry room when the calculated load and available wall position match the appliance. It can serve as full-room, supplementary or transitional heating only where the building calculation supports that role.
Installation
Plan the wall, clearances and electrical connection
The manual specifies a preferred position below a window or on an external wall. The substrate and fixings must safely carry approximately 36 kg. Standard clearances include 5 cm to adjacent masonry, 10 cm to combustible material at the sides, 8 cm above the floor and 10 cm below a non-combustible or 15 cm below a combustible element above the heater.
Do not cover the radiator or obstruct its air paths. It is an IP20 dry-room configuration and must not be treated as a bathroom model. Installation, protective conductor, circuit protection and any fixed connection must comply with the manual and local electrical rules.
Supply scope and commissioning
Know what is included before installation day
The offered product is the anthracite DSM Z configuration with its integrated DSM 2.0 thermostat and standard wall-mounting components. A SmartBox for internet/app functions, optional support feet, external energy-management hardware, installation work and wall preparation are included only when listed separately in the WodaTherm™ proposal.
During commissioning, the installer checks supply voltage, protective conductor, secure mounting, required clearances, thermostat sensing, open-window detection and the selected programme. The type plate and the manual supplied with the appliance take precedence if a later production revision differs from general family literature.
The gallery includes clearly identified family construction and accessory illustrations; some of those technical views show the white cabinet. The ordered finish is governed by SKU 450610275 and the anthracite main product image.
