Description
Heat-retaining electric radiator · two interlocked 1.5 kW circuits · PV and tariff control
Use controllable electricity as room heat without treating a radiator as a full storage heater
TECHNOTHERM Dynamo 1500 S EU is a wall-mounted electric radiator with two separate rows of fireclay heat-storage elements. One 1.5 kW circuit provides heat during the main occupied period; the second 1.5 kW circuit is scheduled as the storage row and can be enabled when photovoltaic surplus or a favourable electricity-price signal is available. The control prevents both rows from operating at the same time, so the active heater load remains 1.5 kW rather than 3.0 kW.
Dynamo is a partial-storage radiator, not a night-storage heater with a large insulated brick pack. It reacts faster, occupies only 12 cm of wall depth and continues releasing retained heat after the active circuit switches off. The manufacturer catalogue states up to approximately three hours of residual heat; actual duration depends on charge level, room heat loss, airflow and temperature conditions.
Two-stage heat storage
A main heating row and a separately scheduled storage row
The front heating circuit is intended to maintain the selected room temperature during the main period of use. The rear circuit charges the second row of fireclay elements during configured charging times. When the storage window is active, the controller blocks the front circuit; when the room later requires heat, the warmed mineral mass continues to release energy by radiation and natural convection.
This arrangement does not create more heat from each kilowatt-hour than another resistance heater. Its value is control and timing: part of the heating demand can be moved towards solar surplus or a lower-price period, subject to weather, the electricity tariff and the building heat loss. Correct settings are essential; uncontrolled overheating simply shifts consumption without improving comfort.
Two physically separate storage rows
Main-period heating and scheduled storage have distinct circuits, while electrical interlocking prevents simultaneous operation.
PV-surplus destination
The integrated Shelly interface can receive commands from a compatible energy-management service when surplus is actually available.
Dynamic-price scheduling
Charging can be concentrated into selected low-price periods instead of running the storage row continuously.
Residual heat after switch-off
The fireclay mass smooths room heat delivery; the catalogue gives a reference of up to approximately three hours.
Weekly room control
Comfort+, comfort and setback temperatures, weekly schedules, adaptive start and open-window detection support regular operation.
Only 12 cm deep
The wall-mounted cabinet provides partial heat storage without the floor loading and depth of a full-size storage heater.
Verified technical data
Dynamo 1500 S EU specifications
The English TECHNOTHERM 2026/27 catalogue supplied by email establishes the white Dynamo 1500 S model, manufacturer order number, power and commercial dimensions. The current German installation manual MAG-000480, edition 07/26, controls electrical, safety, mounting and two-circuit details. The catalogue lists approximately 63 kg while the manual lists 68 kg; use 68 kg for wall and access planning.

Apps and energy management
Separate room control from surplus-energy control
The local thermostat controls room temperature and programmes. Remote TECHNOTHERM room control requires the appropriate SmartBox and app configuration. The Shelly interface is a separate route for enabling the rear storage circuit from a compatible energy-management system. A third-party service such as Clever-PV may require its own paid subscription and is not included unless expressly stated in the quotation.
WodaTherm™ confirms the inverter, meter, local network, EMS and switching logic before promising automatic surplus use. Compatibility must be checked at system level; the presence of a Shelly relay alone does not prove that every inverter portal can control the heater.
Where it fits
For rooms that benefit from steady heat and controllable load
Dynamo is suitable for regularly used rooms where a 1.5 kW electric radiator is supported by the heat-loss calculation and where some consumption can be moved in time. It can serve as full, supplementary or transitional room heating in an appropriate building. It is not intended for dusty, explosive or persistently damp environments, and it should not be selected from floor area alone.
Installation and delivery
The wall, clearances and electrical supply must be checked before installation
The manual requires at least 5 cm from the heater sides to masonry, 10 cm to combustible material, 8 cm above the floor, 10 cm below a non-combustible element, 15 cm below a combustible element and 50 cm clear in front. Optional support feet increase the floor clearance to approximately 13 cm and are recommended where the wall is not load-bearing. The control section must remain on the right.
The protective conductor and supply circuit must comply with local rules. If the appliance is connected permanently instead of using the supplied plug, an all-pole disconnect with at least a 3 mm contact opening is required by the manual. The heater must not be covered, installed directly below a socket or used where flammable dust, gas or vapour can occur.
