If you have a bigger project, then lets discuss on the driver issues or send us the hardware description and we would help you to develope the ath11k driver for your application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First step, download development for rockchip-5b:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">you can get source code by<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">git clone https:\/\/github.com\/Joshua-Riek\/ubuntu-rockchip<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use -ko compilation option can only build the kernel to deb, -uo can only build uboot and -ro can only build rootfs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then, you can move to development create you img by<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a>.\/build.sh &#8211;board=rock-5b &#8211;suite=oracular &#8211;flavor=desktop<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then download our ath11k driver from our ftp, dowload teh DR9074 rockchip.rar file : <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wifi5.eu\/dls\/Wallys\/DR9074\">https:\/\/wifi5.eu\/dls\/Wallys\/DR9074<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><strong>In order to support tri band cards, modifications need to be made to the kernel module.<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Firstly<\/strong>, the ath11k_pci module needs to be added to support QCOM PCI cards. Move config.common.ubuntu to<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">build\/linux-rockchip\/debian.rockchip\/config\/config.common.ubuntu<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">in the compiled environment. This directory may not be available in the newly downloaded environment. You can compile the kernel to obtain this directory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Move mac.c to<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">build\/linux-rockchip\/drivers\/net\/wireless\/ath\/ath11k\/mac.c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Move reg.c to<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">build\/linux-rockchip\/drivers\/net\/wireless\/ath\/ath11k\/reg.c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Compile the kernel so you can get a new kernel deb with ath11k_pci.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Secondly<\/strong>, the correct firmware of the WiFi card is also required to activate it, you can move our firmware (amss.bin, board-2.bin) to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\/lib\/firmware\/ath11k\/QCN9074\/hw1.0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">and delete the amss.bin.zst and board-2.bin.zst from the directory.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Setup wireless on ubuntu<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Download hostapd<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;you can download hostapd by use command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">sudo apt-get install hostapd<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use hostapd to create a wireless access point<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First, you should turn off ubuntu\u2019s wifi tool by this command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">sudo nmcli radio wifi off<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">it will block you wifi function unblock wifi by use this command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">sudo rfkill unblock wifi<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can setup an access point by using command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">sudo hostapd hostapd.conf<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">hostapd.config is a configuration which has set the type of wi-fi you want to enable and the following figure shows its typical structure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"383\" height=\"337\" src=\"https:\/\/wodatherm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ubuntuguide.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10316\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wodatherm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ubuntuguide.jpg 383w, https:\/\/wodatherm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ubuntuguide-300x264.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 383px) 100vw, 383px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have marked the most important part with a red box, where ssid represents the name of the wifi and interface represents the device selected to enable wifi. By the way if you don\u2019t know your interface name, you can use command: ip addr &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;which can show you the information about the interface, the wireless interface always seem like wlan* or wlp*.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you see following output after you use hostapd command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"466\" height=\"56\" src=\"https:\/\/wodatherm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ap-enable.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10315\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wodatherm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ap-enable.jpg 466w, https:\/\/wodatherm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ap-enable-300x36.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 466px) 100vw, 466px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">this means you have successfully started the AP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And when you see this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"613\" height=\"90\" src=\"https:\/\/wodatherm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ap-connected.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10314\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wodatherm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ap-connected.jpg 613w, https:\/\/wodatherm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ap-connected-600x88.jpg 600w, https:\/\/wodatherm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ap-connected-300x44.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 613px) 100vw, 613px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">it means a device connected to you access point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This also means connect if you not set password:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"461\" height=\"71\" src=\"https:\/\/wodatherm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ap-sta-connected.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10313\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wodatherm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ap-sta-connected.jpg 461w, https:\/\/wodatherm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ap-sta-connected-300x46.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 461px) 100vw, 461px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use wpa_supplicant to connect a access point<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First, you should turn off ubuntu\u2019s wifi tool by this command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">sudo nmcli radio wifi off<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">it will block you wifi function unblock wifi by use this command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">sudo rfkill unblock wifi<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can connect an access point by using command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">sudo wpa_supplicant&nbsp;
